Planning a ceiling repair

Questions to ask before repairing a crack, a patch, or a water-damaged area.

A Chamos Texturing planning guide · Updated

Understand the cause

A stain or crack is a starting point for assessment. Resolve ongoing leaks or movement concerns with the appropriate professional before cosmetic work.

Consider the whole ceiling

A repaired area needs to work with the surrounding surface. The original texture, paint, and lighting influence how noticeable a patch may be.

Coordinate other trades

If plumbing or electrical access is still needed, complete that stage before the final ceiling finish. Tell Ronald about any work that is already booked.

Prepare for the estimate

A wide room photo, a closer image of the damage, and a rough measurement help explain the project. Include when the damage appeared and what has already been repaired.
