Start with an assessment
The right removal plan depends on the existing ceiling, previous paint, access, and the finish you want. Share a wide room photograph and a close-up before your estimate. Note the approximate ceiling height and whether the rooms will be occupied during the project.
Check older materials before work begins
Older ceiling textures may contain asbestos. Arrange appropriate testing before disturbing suspect materials. Removal methods must follow the findings; asbestos abatement is a separate specialist service and is not offered through this website.
What changes the estimate?
Room size alone does not describe the job. High ceilings, painted texture, existing patches, water damage, furniture, and the amount of smoothing can change the preparation. Ask for a written scope that separates removal, repairs, finishing, priming, painting, protection, and cleanup. A site-specific estimate is more useful than applying a generic square-foot price.
Choose the finish before removal
Smooth, knockdown, and orange peel give different results. A smooth finish places more emphasis on the preparation underneath, particularly in strong side lighting. Knockdown has a flattened texture; orange peel has a finer, pebbled appearance. Review a real finish sample with Ronald before deciding.
Plan the room and the schedule
Discuss access, furniture, lighting fixtures, and any plumbing or electrical work before finishing starts. Ask when rooms can be used again and which drying stages affect the schedule. There is no single duration that applies to every ceiling.
