A considered approach
to your ceiling.
Orange peel creates a finer pattern than heavier ceiling textures. Chamos includes this finish in its ceiling work, including the commercial projects shown in its portfolio.
- Review of the existing surface and desired pattern
- Masking and preparation before texture application
- New ceiling finishes and suitable patch-in work
- Painting requirements agreed as part of the estimate
Before your estimate
Show us the neighbouring ceiling if the goal is a match. If it is a new finish, we can talk through the difference between orange peel, knockdown, and smooth.
Texture samples are the best starting point for discussing the result you want. Existing finishes can vary from room to room.
Questions about orange-peel texture
How is orange peel different from knockdown?
Orange peel has a finer, lightly pebbled pattern. Knockdown has a more flattened texture. Looking at samples under the room’s lighting helps you compare the two beyond their names.
Can orange peel be used for a ceiling repair?
It can be considered where the existing finish is suitable for a blend. The original pattern and paint affect the result. Larger repairs may call for a broader refinishing area.
Is painting included with the texture?
Confirm this in the estimate. Surface preparation, texture, priming, and painting are distinct parts of the project; the written scope should explain which are included and how the work is coordinated.
