A considered approach
to your ceiling.
Good finishing begins below the paint and texture. Chamos handles drywall repairs and surface preparation as part of ceiling restoration and renovation work.
- Assessment of holes, seams, cracks, and previous patches
- Patching, taping, and filling as required by the scope
- Smoothing and sanding before texture or paint
- Coordination with the rest of the ceiling project
Before your estimate
If electrical or plumbing work is planned, coordinate access openings before the final surface finishing begins.
The estimate should distinguish local repairs from full-surface skim coating. Different starting conditions need different amounts of preparation.
Questions about drywall & skim coating
What is the difference between patching and skim coating?
Patching addresses a damaged area. Skim coating smooths a broader surface with finishing compound. Your ceiling may need one or both, depending on existing texture, seams, and the desired result.
When should electrical or plumbing work happen?
Coordinate any work that needs openings before the final ceiling finish. Tell Ronald about scheduled work so access, repairs, and finishing can be planned in the right order.
Can a recurring crack simply be covered?
A recurring crack needs assessment of its cause before another cosmetic repair. If movement or another underlying problem is suspected, involve the appropriate professional before final finishing.
